Dr. Sanchayan Roy

Senior Consultant Internal Medicine and Critical Care

Dr. Sanchayan Roy is an accomplished Internal Medicine , Critical Care and Regenerative Medicine Consultant. Coming largely from a non medical family background it was always his inspiration and dream to become not only a successful and skilled doctor but to reach out to the common people in a way which was perhaps not possible in any other profession. He did his under graduation from St. John’s Medical College, Bangalore where he was trained by doyens who were considered as one of the greatest in their respective fields . Post M.B.B.S., he worked in a rural hospital in Tamil Nadu for two years under the `Rural Orientation Programme’ to understand the health needs of our rural society.Thereafter he did D.N.B. in General Medicine from St. Martha’s Hospital, Bangalore. During his post graduation, he also got to work in Jaydeva Institute of Cardiology and the prestigious NIMHANS (Neurology and Mental Health Hospital) in Bangalore.
After completing D.N.B., he worked in Wockhardt Hospital, Bangalore for nearly five and half years in Critical Care Medicine. At that time he also underwent training in Respiratory Medicine along with Critical Care Medicine under the guidance of Dr. Ravi Mehta . After relocating to Delhi he worked in Critical Care Medicine Department in Fortis Hospital, Vasant Kunj. Following an enriching experience as a Intensivist, he moved into the challenging role as a Consultant and in-charge of Critical Care in Nova Orthopaedic And Spine Centre, Nehru Enclave. After two wonderful years there hejoined Fortis Escorts Heart Institute, Okhla as Consultant Critical Care Medicine. Having amassed a rich experience in the field of Critical Care there, he joined as a Consultant Critical Care and Head of Department in V.P.S. Rockland Institute in Katwaria Sarai. It was a very different and yet a fulfilling role of managing Medical, Surgical, Transplant and C.T.V.S. ICU. After gaining indepth experience in the field of Critical Care, he moved into a slightly different role of Internal Medicine Consultant and Regenerative Medicine Specialist in National Heart Institute, East Of Kailash. Along with this he also joined with Apollo Cradle Royal, Nehru Enclave, Sarvodaya Medicentre, Gk-1 and Moolchand Hospital, Lajpat Nagar as Visiting Consultant in Internal Medicine and Critical Care. Thus it has been a thrilling journey through the myriads of time, accumulating a vast experience and knowledge in different fields and roles to reach the present status.
He has a strong interest and experience in complicated, comprehensive respiratory, cardiovasular, diabetes, gastrointestinal, endocrine and neurological disorders along with geriatric health related problems. Apart from this he comes with a rich experience of 13 years in Critical Care Illnesses and their Management. He is also involved as a Regenerative Medicine Specialist specially in the areas of Type1 and Type2 Diabetes Mellitus, Acute Spinal Cord Injury, Chronic Kidney Disease and Neurodevelopmental Disorders. Overall he has around thirteen rich years of experience in Internal Medicine and Critical Care with the ability to manage the most complicated cases related to various systems including management of e-ICU and ECMO.
